Fix a missed or failed punch
What to do when you forget to clock in or out, the PIN screen shakes, or it says there's no connection.
Punches go wrong sometimes — you forget to clock out, or the screen does something unexpected. None of it costs you your hours. Here's what each situation means and the one thing to do about it.
You forgot to clock in or out
Tell your admin the day and the time you actually started or finished. They can add the missing punch for you, and your hours will be corrected. You don't need to do anything on the iPad.
The number pad shakes and clears
A shake means the PIN wasn't recognized. Tap your 4 digits again, slowly. If it still won't take, your PIN may have changed — see *Forgot your PIN?* Repeated wrong tries don't lock the iPad, so the next person can still punch.
It says "No connection — please try again"
The iPad briefly lost internet. Wait a moment and tap your PIN again. Your punch is saved on the iPad the instant you see the green screen, even if the internet is spotty — it catches up on its own once the connection returns.
The green screen is your receipt
If you saw the green confirmation with your name and the time, your punch counted. You can trust it and walk away — there's nothing else to tap.
Saw "Device Not Authorized"?
You're trying to clock in from a phone or a device that isn't the office iPad. Clocking in and out only works on the office iPad. To check your hours instead, tap View My Hours.
