Export payroll for the week
Download a week's timesheets as a spreadsheet you can hand to payroll, with each employee's hours, overtime, rate, and gross pay.
When the week's timesheets are reviewed, export them so payroll has every employee's hours and pay in one file. There are two ways to do it: a quick CSV download from the Timesheets page, and a filtered Excel export from the Reports page.
Quick CSV from the Timesheets page
- 1
Pick the pay period
Open Timesheets and use Previous / Next to land on the Friday–Thursday week you want.
- 2
Download the file
Select Export CSV in the top right. A file downloads named for the period (for example, *timesheets_2026-06-06_to_2026-06-12.csv*) and you'll get a confirmation showing how many timesheets were included.
What's in the CSV
One row per employee with Pay Rate, Regular Hours, Overtime Hours, Total Hours, Regular Pay, Overtime Pay, Gross Pay, and Status, plus a TOTAL row at the bottom. Overtime pay is already figured at 1.5×.
ADP paydata file from the Timesheets page
- 1
One-time setup
In Settings, open the Payroll card and save your ADP Company Code (for example, *9D4*). Then add each employee's ADP File # on their profile. ADP pays by File #, so the export waits until everyone with approved hours has one. You can also add a missing File # right in the export dialog.
- 2
Export the period
On Timesheets, pick the pay period and select Export for ADP. The Batch ID is assigned for you, counting up from *00001*, so each payroll gets its own number. Confirm the pay date, then select Export.
- 3
Import into ADP
A file named like *EPI9D4081026.csv* downloads, ready for ADP's Import Paydata. Only approved timesheets with hours are included. The dialog warns you about pending timesheets.
Filtered Excel from the Reports page
Use this when you want to pick a specific period, narrow to one employee, or preview the numbers before downloading.
- 1
Open the payroll export
Go to Reports and choose the Payroll Export tab.
- 2
Set the period and employee
Pick This Week, Last Week, 2 Weeks Ago, or a Custom Range from the period menu. Leave the employee filter on All Employees, or choose one person.
- 3
Preview, then download
The table shows each employee's hours, overtime, rate, and pay with a running Total. When it looks right, select Download Excel.
A missing pay rate shows as $0
If an employee's rate hasn't been set, the export shows their rate and pay as $0 and the Reports preview flags it with a warning icon. Set the rate on the employee's profile, then export again.
